Quartzite is a hard, non-foliated metamorphic rock which was originally pure quartz sandstone. Sandstone is converted into quartzite through heating and pressure usually related to tectonic compression. Quartzite is usually white to grey, with various shades of pink and red due to changing amounts of iron oxide.

Quartzite, not to be confused with Quartz , is not a manufactured or engineered material, as it is a naturally occurring stone. It is often described as harder than Granite and more scratch resistant but can be difficult to edge and cut to untrained fabricators. In the right hands, quartzite can be perfectly crafted to showcase it’s natural beautiful and flare.
